What is the difference between working hard and working smart?

Working hard is getting up early in the morning, go to work for ten to twelve hours, getting home late with a few extra work at night, sleeping late, having no time with your family or friends, stressed, overfatigue and underpayed. Your pay is based on time, and you plan to do this until your retiring age, which is 60 to 65.

Working smart on the other hand is waking up any time of the day, you own your time, your pay is based on your result and not on time, you have a business that doesn't require you to be physically present, but you put a lot of effort and focus, but since you are using leverage, you still have time for other more important stuff like your family, your hobbies, your friends. You plan to build your business in the next three to five years, but after that you'll retire, may be when you are still at your 30's and can still enjoy most of your life.

Now, are you working hard? or are you working smart?
There are people who have done this, they worked smart and they succeeded. How much more time do you plan to waste on working hard knowing that you are never going to get ahead in your life.
